Rosa is the youngest member of the jewelry collective at the age of 29. She has four boys, from ages 1 to 11. Rosa married at the age of 14 and her obvious strength has carried her family through their hard times. Her husband rarely has enough work to sustain their family, and so Rosa began bead working only four years ago. When Rosa began working in JUSTA's jewelry collective, she only spoke her native language of Tzutijil and had no skill in the craft. Now, Rosa has learned to speak Spanish and create beautifully intricate designs with her jewelry. Though she is still quiet and shy, her feminine power sustains her family.
